question regarding memory/task mgr

i have windows xp with a core 2 duo processor and 2 gigs memory. when i go into task manager from hitting ctr/alt/del i see numerious numbers and readings. what is pf usage which is 317mb and then i see totals, physical memory,commit charge,kernel memory...
