Simple question:

I have a cell phone and will be calling California from Ohio. I am on a standard Verizon Wireless plan.

I will be calling a landline phone number.

Will the recipient of my call be charged?

Not unless the recipient's landline charges by the minute. That's pretty rare, but not unheard of for some of the rock bottom phone packages.

nope, he us isnt considered long distance on verizon, and i believe neither is canada, or they may be adopting it, it is becoming more common though

If your cell plan doesn't cover long distance, (and most do) YOU may be charged for the long distance call, but not the recipient.

The recipient is never charged for receiving a call unless a, its a collect call, or b, they are flat out charged for every minute they use their phone anyways. (or I guess c, they are on the other end of an 800 number)
