question regarding logo contest

Hey, I'd like to start a thread about a logo design contest (paypal $$$ to the winner) for my wife's new business. I know some other poster did this not too long ago and then essentially stole several ideas to create his own logo, then refused to pay anyone. So, knowing that, is this type of contest no longer allowed? I would hope that my participation on this forum and my annual tax help would lend some credibility to my request. Anyone know or can tell me how to contact a mod to find out? thanks.
 
I'm sure you can still do it - just advance paypall the money to someone and you're set.

I will definetly participate - PM me if you'd like to see my portfolio.

Which was a good thing. Prevented the contest runner to steal the logos and not pay up.

Yeah, I seem to remember it worked out very well. The DV Rebel logo was very well done, as well. Winners all around.
