Question Regarding Home Theatre System and Bridging Sound...

I just bought some new floor stand speakers (MTX AAL12B's) and I'm running them in place of the front factory speakers on my home theatre system. Now, Sony made the reciever so the main speakers don't have to run any bass, and all the bass goes through the subwoofer. This works well in theory, but when you add in custom speakers, each containing their own 12" subwoofer, it becomes a bit of a problem. What I want to do is take some speaker cable and run it from the subwoofer out (inside the reciever) to both the front left and right speakers (my new MTXs). In theory, this should run the bass through my speakers AND through my sub, though with a possible loss of wattage. Is this feasible? Or is this something that would work only in my head? Thanks in advance. Also, if something doesn't make sense in what I typed, let me know so I can clarify.

Don't be an asshat by bumping your threads every 15 minutes.
If it's worth replying to, someone will contribute.

What you're suggesting is logical but won't quite work like you expect, I don't think.

Are you SURE that the receiver doesn't have a setting that lets you change the crossover for the front speakers? Most receivers will at least let you specify "small" or "large" for front speakers to determine the amount of bass that goes there.

What model receiver is it? I find it preposterous that they'd make one without adjustable bass output.

Sorry, I accidently hit return before I started typing. The reciever was part of a whole Home Theatre system. It wasn't necessarily intended to be used with custom speakers. The model is a Sony HTDDW740. I believe they discontinued it a couple months ago, but I may be wrong. Assuming there is no way to change the cross-over, is there any other logical way to go about re-directing the bass to my front speakers? Thanks

Buy a new receiver.
Any one that came with a HTIB is automatically crap.
It won't do your speakers justice anyway.
