Question regarding HL and mouse and keyboard lockup

I just installed xp again and I'm having the same problem as I did with my old install, but it just went away for some reason there.

The problem is that when I'm playing cs or do the mouse and keyboard lock up for 1sec or so, very anoying since I cant change where I'm going during that time.

I have no clue what could be causing this so I was wondering if anyone has a clue about this?

ahhh I remember what I did, cut of all sound hardware acceleration, solves this problem

I have the same problem too. your saying cutting back your sound acceleration helps this? I hope so...I've been trying to find out why that happens for a long time. what sound card do you have?

Remove all hardware acceleration for sound, somewhere in control panel.
