Question regarding FSB of AMD 2500+

I have KT4V mainboard and AMD 2500+. When I use fuzzy logic, my fsb is only 166, whereas it should be 333. My BIOS will not let me change it manually to 333. How can I fix it to 333? Do I not support 333? or is there some other issue? Thanks for the help.

Yes, but 333 is the DDR rating, which essentially doubles the actual MHz rating. It's all in how the DDR technology works.

133MHz FSB = 266MHz DDR
166MHz FSB = 333MHz DDR
200MHz FSB = 400MHz DDR

In the beginning there was SDRAM. This type of RAM sent data once per clock cycle. DDR (Double Data Rate) SDRAM is now. This type of RAM sends data 2 times per clock cycle theoretically doubling the clock speed.

Thus,

DDR SDRAM 133MHz = SDRAM 266MHz

Although, in my opinion, it should be referred to by the clock speed, people use the theoretical speed, using SDRAM as a comparison. Thats why you see that they market your Athlon's FSB as 333MHz when in actuality it is only 166MHz.

for reference, DDR exists because they figured out how to use both the rising and falling side of the clockcycle.
