Question regarding FAFSA

How much did the student?s father/stepfather earn from working (wages, salaries, tips, etc.) in 2004 (question 76)? Answer this question whether or not the student?s father filed a tax return.

I have no idea what he made, and hes not paying for any of my schooling. What should I put down?

Thanks

EDIT: Sorry, I should have put in more information. My parents are divorced and he doesn't live in my household.

the fact taht he is isint paying for your schooling makes NO difference to the ppl at FAFSA. They are trying to get an idea of how much $$$ is in ur household, and will base any need-based scholarships off that....they dont give a rats a$$ if ur dad wont pay for you.

You may very well fit into the one group of people who are screwed when it comes to financial aid. If you come from a mid to high income family and the family doesn't pay anything for your schooling, then you are left high and dry.

oh....I do think it still matters however, if he has some form of custody over you, if not, they may just take into account any payments he makes for your mom for you. Do you have a stepdad or something? cause his income would be included def.

My household does okay because we have no debts. All of our cars and the house are paid off, so alot of that money just goes to making our lives happier and easier, and paying monthly bills. If you look at it from a number standpoint, it is generally considered "low-income". My mother is a waitress, I work at a fast food place. However, despite the low-income, we live pretty good.

Maybe I should get married 😛. If I knew what he made, I would put it down, but I don't feel like calling him for it.

No step dad, and my father does not claim me as a dependant. My mother does.

I do not live with my father, I do not know what he makes, and he will not be paying for any of it. The only source of income in our house is my mother, my brother (claims himself), and my self (claimed by my mother).

EDIT: Is something wrong with filling out a FAFSA in May? School doesn't start until August.

All the good stuff (free money and best loans) are available on a first come first serve basis. Many people rush to get it finished the day it becomes available (Jan 2-3 usually). By May, you probably missed out on all the free money and best loans.

Oh, I didn't realize it started that early. Ah, well, we will see 🙂. Hopefully I get something.

Thanks.
