Question regarding Expedia, small planes, and a toilet!

I bought tickets a while back (several months ago) from Expedia for a trip to NYC coming up in just under 6 weeks. It will include one short layover in another city before finally going to NYC. The problem is in the trip from my city to the layover city (and same when coming back from NY). Looking at the itenerary yesterday I noticed that I would not be flying in a Boeing or a similarly large plane from my city to the layover. Instead, it fits at most 10 - 15 ppl. I called Expedia and asked if they had bathrooms on that flight. They did not, and I do not feel comfortable about flying on this plane. As a person who suffers from IBS, this is NOT A GOOD situation. What's the possibility of getting on another plane going to that layover city that will have at least a friggin bathroom on it? If Expedia had let me know the specifics of that flight being on such a small plane, I wouldn't have bought the tickets simply because I like knowing I can use the restroom if I really need to. It is a Beechcraft 1900, if I remember right.

-Bought Expedia.com tickets a while ago
- noticed yesterday on iteneriary it is a very small plane (10 - 15 ppl)
- called Expedia, the plane does not have a bathroom
- this is a problem, I have IBS and am not comfortable with that situation!
- how to get resolved and on a flight that at least has a bathroom?!

I didn't. I was kinda in shock that it wasn't and so asked for the airline's number. Called them and they confirmed. Should I contact the airline or Expedia to have this resolved?

If its a B1900, its gonna be a VERY short flight...I think you'd be okay if you went right before departure.

An hour and a half...pretty long if the symptoms aren't good that day. On bad days a 5 minute bus ride can be a problem lol. This little thread I started is starting to remind me of the Atkins diet thread. Ewww

Just a guess, but based on runway length and the capabilities at an airport, only small planes can take off/land there. You may need to redo the entire itinerary with a direct flight.

I don't know saying 5mins is too long sometimes could mean you can still have a problem even if the plane had a restroom. People sometimes are in there a long time....sometimes they break. Many have two , sometimes more but 5 mins is too narrow a window.

Perhaps driving to your destinations is in order for you.

I'm looking to go Cincy -> Cleveland -> NY. It is Cincy -> Cleveland (and Cleveland -> Cincy coming back) that are the problem flights. I'd be willing to take a flight out of Indianapolis, Dayton, or Lexington to get to Cleveland. It doesn't matter.

I agree. Even flying to New York you could get stuck on the taxiway for a period longer than that B1900 flight. I highly doubt any aircrew would let you get up and goto the bathroom while they are on a taxiway. I would consider taking a train or something if your condition is that serious.

Ha! No, no that's how bad it had been. I have some medications (over the counter) that I take in those kind of situations. I will likely be too pumped about the trip and too much thinking about it than to worry about restroom problems, but I would be comforted to know that if I had to use the restroom in-flight, it is available.

Cincy=>Cleveland? Take a bus. It'll be shorter, because when you factor in all the time you spend waiting for 757's to not kill you on the taxiways, you've just added half an hour to your flight.

Wrong. I go up there quite often to visit with old college friends. Is about 5+ hours driving.

Sell the tickets and take Delta. Direct flight to NYC.

In fact, the email from Delta this week was $128 roundtrip from Cincy to LaGuardia for leaving Sat. and returning Mon. or Tue.

And, driving-wise, Cincy to Cleveland is no more than 4 hrs...more like 3 1/2. It's only 1 1/2 hrs to Columbus.

Well, yeah, if you got to take a p1ss or sh1t every 5 miles. j/k I drove thru cincy on my way thru the youngstown/boardman area, it was longer than one would think, kinda like driving thru WV(I77-I79).

Yup, is deceiving. Usually takes me just over 1.5 hrs to get just Cincy - > Columbus, and at a good clip too!
