Here's the deal. We have 2 900 MHz Panasonic cordless phones. Yes, we should probably upgrade to better phones, but that's not an option now. These 2 phones were not advertised as supporting the call-waiting feature. However, is it possible to get them to use this feature? Is there some hidden feature (or button) to get call-waiting to work with these phones?

Thanks!! :)

I can use my call waiting feature on my old non-wireless phone from 1992. I would hear a beep, and just quickly press the button that disconnects the line when you hang up, and I could switch back and forth. Maybe you could just push the "talk" button quickly....

Thanks! :) Yes, our phones have a "flash" button on them. I'll give this a try. Also, after posting this thread, I hit the Panasonic site where they have most of their manuals on-line. I found the manual for our phone and on page 26, there was a reference to the "flash" button. Thanks again!

What's wrong with your Panasonic cordless phones? I love mine, have a black 900 MHz cordless phone, it doesn't have caller ID nor a digital answering machine but it does have a nice handset with beltclip, dual keypads (gotta love that speakerphone button).

First of all you have to subscribe to the call waiting service with your telephone company. If you are then while you're on the phone and someone else calls you'll hear a series of beeps, click the FLASH button to switch to the other line and FLASH again to switch back to the original line.

No prob. Its nice to know you looked for the manual. I was starting to think the entire world had become lazy slobs and expected a quick answer on the forums, and was too lazy to even try google....

Actually, nothing is really wrong with our 900 MHz Panasonic phones. I was just thinking that when it comes to security, that particular model may not be as good as a 2.4 GHz "spread spectrum" model. However, our 900 MHz phones have been solid performers - and what I'm talking about on the phone is never of a confidential nature - so, maybe I don't need any additional security. Actually, our phones are so solid that one of the handsets fell and hit the kitchen floor and cracked a tile. The phone still works beautifully.

Also, for closure, we do have the "call-waiting" feature turned on because I activated that feature when I purchased my call-waiting modem - which gets retired next week when I get high-speed Internet cable access. Yeah! It's about damn time! :)

I hear you. I do enjoy RTFM when I do want to learn about features for a certain device. It's just at the time, I couldn't locate the manual where we keep our service manuals. However, this forum and the Panasonic site came through for me.
