Question Regarding Bridging Home Theatre Reciever...

I just bought some new floor stand speakers (MTX AAL12B's) and I'm running them in place of the front factory speakers on my home theatre system. Now, Sony made the reciever so the main speakers don't have to run any bass, and all the bass goes through the subwoofer. This works well in theory, but when you add in custom speakers, each containing their own 12" subwoofer, it becomes a bit of a problem. What I want to do is take some speaker cable and run it from the subwoofer out (inside the reciever) to both the front left and right speakers (my new MTXs). In theory, this should run the bass through my speakers AND through my sub, though with a possible loss of wattage. Is this feasible? Or is this something that would work only in my head? Thanks in advance. Also, if something doesn't make sense in what I typed, let me know so I can clarify.

well, with my limited knowledge, you should at least get sound from the sub output. whether or not sony has put a low pass crossover on that sub output could be a factor in what frequencies you can get. i imagine this is unlikely as subwoofers come with their own crossover. so now that you may be getting full frequency range through the sub output, and as you pointed out, at a lower wattage. the next point to make would be since this is a home theater setup, the purpose of the front channel speakers is to play the sounds that happen at the front of the screen. since youd be connecting to the sub output, i dont believe youd be getting true surround sound. I am sure there will be more technical answers but thats my 2¢.
