I've heard before that Win98 would only support about 256MB of RAM effectively, and that any more than that was pretty much a waste. Does WinME handle RAM any better? What's the max ammount of RAM that ME will handle effectively? Anybody know?

Win98 itself can't really use more than 128MB effectively, but if you do have more than 128MB in Win98, things like games and Photoshop will benefit. I hear that WinMe uses the extra RAM better, but I don't have any personal experience with it.

OK, lemme lay it on the line...here's the deal.

I've been running Win98 for about a year with 512MB PC100. I do some work with Photoshop, and a lot of gaming. So...I've got 512, but now I have access to 256MB (x4)=1024 for real cheap...like not much more than I could sell my 512MB's for.

So, question is, would I be better off with the 1024MB(that just sounds SWEET) or selling the 256MB chips for some dough, and spending that somewhere else in my system?

BTW: if they don't have arms...they don't have pits :)

Go with the memory it sounds too sweet, also if ME doesn't like I am sure 2k would

P.S. Use 700 Mb for a ramdrive and copy cd's to and run it as a fake CD Drive
