Today I upgraded from MSI's K7T266 Pro2 to their KT3 Ultra-ARU. The primary reason I went with the RAID version was so I could have each of my 3 IDE devices as a master on a separate channel. What I envisioned:

IDE 1: WD 100GB HDD
IDE 2: Lite-On CD-RW
IDE 3: BTC CD-R

Then I read in the mobo manual that IDE 3 and 4 only support hard disk drives! What's up with that?

hey Dan, yeah...that sucks, but i read over on the amdmb forums (msi section) that there will be a new bios release that will allow IDE 3 and 4 to be regular ata-133 controllers!! just no date as to when this will be released.
Check it out!

drew, thanks for the link. I'm glad to see that MSI is going to remedy this.
