Hi all. I have a question regarding 3dmark2001SE and 3dmark2003Pro and my ATI 9800 Pro. In my system display settings I have the Direct3d and OpenGL settings all the way to the may for best quality and my games look fantastic. But when I run 3dmark2001SE and 3dmark2003Pro my scores are horrendous even when I change the settings in 3dmark2001SE and 3dmark2003Pro. If I set the system display settings to the lowest settings (performance) then my scores are around 17000 and 5500 respectively in 3dmark2001SE and 3dmark2003Pro. Shouldn't 3dmark2001SE and 3dmark2003Pro overide the system settings? I am using winxp pro SP1. Also, those scores are at the default settings for 3dmark2001SE and 3dmark2003Pro, are these decent scores consodering i have a P4 3ghz 800mhz fsb with 1.5 gig ram? Thanks.

erm 5500 is about right for a 9800pro (stock speeds) 03 is less dependant on the rest of ur system and mainly focus' on your graphics card alone...so 5500 is a good score

when u have things set all the way to max.....then that will mean anti aliasing an anisotropic filtering are turned on...(if u use the slider at the top of the control panel) these two things usually drop performance by quite abit but they increase image quality (as u have found out) alot too! 3d mark does not override settings i dont think....it will run at wat ever u have things set too in the control panel

3d mark 2001 on the other hand is different....this is more of a system benchmark and CPU, memory speeds etc play a little more in the final score i score 12000 about with a 2.6 p4 and a 9500 pro with 768mb RD ram (pc 800) so your 17000 looks fine too

hope thats helped

2k1 is now a CPU benchmark. I score 17,500 on my R9700PRO, but I'm certain I have a much more powerful CPU than you do so it's not your graphics card that is the problem.

I score 6,400 in '03, also with the 9700. It is overclocked to 353/340, but I still think you guys with the 9800 cards should be outperforming me. I suppose it could be my platform/CPU, but I'm fairly certain that '03 is not very CPU limited whatsoever.
