Question powering on pc urgent

Hey,

I broke my pc over the weekend, and I can "borrow" someone else's but I can't take the case.

How should I set it up? I just need to ground it right?

My main concern is how will i switch it on.

You do have a power supply, right? About switching it on, find on the mobo where you would plug in a power switch (should say "pwr swtch", "soft pwr" etc). There are two "terminals" for that plug. Touch a flathead screw-driver to those terminals, and the computer should come on. I really suggest getting a case because if you have static electricity built up in your body and you touch the mobo in the wrong spot, your mobo is fried!

thanks alot lol, I'm a newbie but I know I need a power supply 🙂

So just putting it on a rubber sheet or a mousepad or something should be sufficient?

I'm not going to be touching it.

The only problem your rubber mat solution will present is the absence of all 'soft' grounds on the motherboard....some function fine, but many give people headaches when they miss just one screw to standoff from my reading. I don't know why, but that may be a problem for you...otherwise you should be sailing smooth.
