Question on Zalman

Hey i see some people have been replacing their asus Chipset fan with the Zalman Passice heatsink. My question is wont the chipset become more prone to getting overheated without a fan? i thought i read somewhere that Nforce 4 boards run hot.

Many people have replaced their nForce4 NB cooler with the Zalman without heat problems. I'm one of those people.

They do get hot, but I personally feel that the Zalman solution is good enough. The main problem with the Zalman and most other solutions are that they are too tall and can get in the way of a 2nd SLI video card.

The passive coolers works EXCELLENT if you have like a sonata case where the 120mm fan is right next to it. I placed my finger on the very bottom of the passive heatsink and it is only warm.
