I have a Geforce2 with 23.12 WHQL driver, I was wondering if I have set the refresh rate in the monitor panel under video card property does that mean it will have the maximum refresh rate in all applications and games? Or should I have to set the refresh rate somewhere else for games. Because I have noticed maybe just my eye that when I enter the games the monitor seems turn into a lower refresh rates.

I've fixed that problem, but here's an odd problem.

With XP, my refresh rates don't seem to be as pleasing to the eye as they were with 98. I used to have my 98 box and sony wide screen at 85Hz, and I detected no flicker. But now, 85 Hz seems too low, and I can detect flicker. I need it to be at 100.

Anyone else notice this? Or is it just my Gainward GF3 Ti500 causing this? But I don't think that's it, because I had a Hercules GF2 in here for a short while, and it was the same way, anything below 100 was flicky to me.

Is it an XP thing?

this tool will allow you to fix your refresh rates (just be sure to set the rates for the 3 different color depths).

<< thank you :)

is that the latest version?

Don't worry, it will work fine. I'm using the patch right now. It probably hasn't been updated since October because it's not really the type of thing that needs to be updated frequently; it's just a one time patch. Just remember that every time you reinstall or install a new set of drivers, you need to run the program and input the settings again.

I run with an 85Hz refresh in XP. It looks fine to me. See sig for more details.

I've got to agree with GenerationYscorpio. I switch from Win98se to WinXPpro and noticed a pronounced flicker when running WinXP @ 85Hz. I bumped it up to 100Hz and all seems fine now.

Um, I said that. But I'm glad someone else noticed it too :)

odd odd odd...

I installed the software in hope that the games would improve in refresh rate.

Everything is improved, from desktop to other software and all the games.

man, WinXP refresh rate adjustment is garbage in my opinion.

Get Riva Tuner and use the built-in 60 Hz refresh rate fix that it has.
