Question on WHICH Setup (mb,cpu & ram) to go with ????

Ok , if you had to choose between the two setups below , which would you choose & why ?
Trying to decide on the motherboard is just as dificult as jumping from amd to intel

Intel 850emv2 / Intel 2.26b / 2x256mb pc800

Or

MSI KT3 Ultra2 / Amd xp2200 1.8ghz / 1x512mb pc2700

Depends. The XP will be faster by about 5-10% in 3D Rendering and JN2 and Comanche 4, while being idneticval in the majroity of games, meanwhile, the P4 will be faster in SYSMark ICC and SSE2 3D Rendering by a big margin, while slightly faster in SYSMark 2002 Office. Personally, I'd take the XP.

the pent4 system would work well... but for me i would choose the AthlonXP

Unless you mention the purpose which the computer will serve (e.g. for hardcore porn), we can't help you. However, if you know how the computer will be used (e.g. for hardcore porn), we will be happy to help you.

And even then, your P4 setup doesn't look like all it can be. Why not get a DDR motherboard instead? You'll get better performance in some cases, and should be able to reuse the memory with your next PC (just buy PC2700 or better).
