I just got this old system with a Voodoo3 3000 with 16rams. I formated the harddrive and put WinME on it. After I setted up WinME, I can't change the screen area to any other size then 640 by 480 pixels, and I can only able to use 256bits color.

I checked 3dfx site, and downloaded the driver for it, this fixed the color problem. Now I am able to choice from 256 colors to 32bits color, but I still can't change the screen area to any bigger?

Anyone able to help me out or give me a working driver for WinME. Thank you

The screen size is usually a function of the monitor. Make sure you have changed the monitor from "unknown" to what you actually have.

What do you mean by changing the unknown monitor to what I actually have? I don't have drivers for the monitor.

So will it be the monitor problem? Because that monitor I have is back from 1995.

In my mind, monitor shouldn't be matter, because it is the hardware itself that change the screen area. Even though monitor doesn't support it, the graphic will just look terrible, but I should be able to change the screen area in display porperties.

Windows matches the capabilities of the video card (color depth, refresh rate, resolution) and monitor. It will only allow you to set the display properties to values that are supported by both. My guess is that Windows thinks that the max resolution your monitor supports is 640x480. You need to go into display properties and change your monitor type to the actual manufacturer/model. I believe it is under the "Advanced" dialog which can be brought up from the "Settings" tab in the display properties dialog. You may need to have the WinME disk handy.
