Reading peoples thoughts. Most people seem to think that Radeon 9500 pro 128MB is the best value 3d card to buy. Im still tossing up between that or the cheaper Geforce ti4200 128MB 8xAGP. Here in AUS the ti4200 is about 25% ($90AU) cheaper then the 9500 pro. Is there much difference between the brands in the same card? Because there is quite a price difference. Any thoughts on the ti4200 card brands: Mercury (cheaper), Leadtek, Albatron, ASUS (more expensive)? I realize extra features such as VIVO adds expense. They all have the same chipset, right? Is there much diff in performance between the brands?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

the 4200 can do FSAA just fine, same with AF. I have FSAA cranked up to the max in 1942 with my 4200 and 1700athlon and get no lag. btw, i have the asus v9280td board, it rocks. some of nvidias (and ATIs) board manufactures use differant types of memory and possibly even clockspeed. be sure to research this as you go along.

I didn't mean to imply that GeForce4 cards can't run AA. From every benchmark that I've seen the 9500 Pro outruns the 4200's, when the AA & resolution start getting cranked up.
I had a 4200 and really liked it. It's a matter of what kinds of programs/games a person is into. :)
