I was interested in getting this board and wanting to play around with my first ide RAID system. I see from the pic sheet that there are what looks like four ide ports. I presume that there are two for the IDE and two for the raid. If this is so, can I use all four for a total of eight? four standard devices and four drives raided together?
 
Yup, not only that, but many people just use the RAID ports for 4 more IDE Devices without them being RAID'ed so yeah, what you want to do will work.
