Drive a 2005 Focus. Car has ~ 100k miles on it. Do you feel the shocks/struts should be replaced at this time? Does not seem to be terribly bad, but sure they have lost some tension over the years/miles. What are your thoughts?

Is it bottoming out? Wobbling on corners? Wearing tires unevenly?

I'm not a big fan of changing shocks/struts unless there's an obvious reason why. Of course, that's true of everything on my vehicles.

Chances are they are at least worn out a bit. Shocks/struts do wear and will get weaker but very slowly. As such many do not notice them wearing out.

As long as the car rides and handles ok for you and is safe then you can keep driving on them. If not then replace.

I just replaced the struts/shocks on my truck as they were not fully bad but were very soft due to age. Ok around town but at highway speeds floated to much for my liking.

You'll notice a difference if you replace them, but it doesn't *need* to be done. If your car feels floaty on the highway it'll help.
