Question on stepping for i& 6850K

Hi All,

Just bought an i7 6850K and all seems well but I noticed the stepping is a little weird. Mine reads as a M0 stepping while all the information I see on the net is all about the R0 stepping.

Is there any real difference between these two steppings? It does bother me some not to find any info on steppings other than R0 for the i7 6850K.

Thanks in advance,

Will

eBay, thus the reason for concern. The batch number seems ok and CPU-ID gives me the right info about the cpu except for the stepping being M0.

Checked with Intel last night. The representative had never heard of an M0 revision/stepping for the i7 6850K. Good news is the serial number, batch number, etc. from the box label all match what is on the CPU heat sink. Unfortunately, there are no other indicators showing and I am not willing to remove the heat sink when all other sources identify the processor as what it claims to be (Intel Processor Identification Utility and CPUID).

Thoughts?

Seems fine. There are other M0 CPUs validated on CPU-Z if that means anything:
