Question on SSD

Hey guys,

Currently have an 80GB Intel SSD (OS installed here) and a 500gb regular hard drive. I want to add another SSD (3 total) strictly to install games on.

Is there any reason I should replace the 80GB SSD with the new one or would I just be able to install the new SSD as a 3rd drive and utilize? Perfectly happy with how my system currently runs, just want to speed up some games and add a bit more storage (500gb only has like 150 left and down the road when I upgrade mobo/CPU I'll do a re-format and likely ditch the 80GB).

Guess I'm really asking, would a storage/slave drive be just as fast as if I had it as my primary?

Its perfectly fine to use the new SSD as a game storage drive. Even more so when game clients like Steam finally allows installation in a different drive.

On my end, I have 6 different drives, and I have Steam games installed in three of them. What are you talking about dma0991?

As for the SSD, if you get a bigger SSD, it'll be considerably faster so you may want to consider porting your Windows into the new SSD for improved performance. Or you may choose not to, the difference will be ever so little anyway, in real world performance.
