Hi all,
I'm wanting to use a socket 478 P4 processor on a socket 423 P4 motherboard and I
bought an adapter.
I noticed that it came with a bios update on a floppy.
I tried to use it without updating the bios and a hard drive that I had XP installed on
came up with a blue colored screen telling me that the OS was halted because of
a problem.
I'm guessing the problem is with the adapter.
The question is.....once I do the bios update will I ever be able to use a socket 423 processor
on the motherboard or am I stuck having to use a socket 478 forever?
Thanks,
Jim
