I don't use this so I don't know much about it but a friend of mine wants to send some small video of her grandaughter to her son. We have tried AIM, Live messenger etc. but it is really slow and it stops after a couple of minutes and says an error has occured. They are about 167mb each. As I said I don't know much about this so can anyone tell me if these are too large to send? If so, what does she do? How can we send these to her son? Thanks.

Find a free web host; I believe there is a sticky in the Off Topic forum. The video can either be streamed or downloaded from there.

I'm assuming both Grandma and her son have a broadband connection and not dialup? 167MB is a big file; no way you can email that or stream it over AIM

If you have a decent upload bandwith, use HFS program to send it to them

Use a free video hosting service such as Vimeo that allows you to link to the original format version you uploaded as well as the horrible looking flash conversion they do:

Free, Anonymous, No registration.

Upload, Get the Link and send it to your recipient. They download at their end.

You are limited to 100 MB filesize. So you would have to split those 167 MB files in two.

I've streamed .ISO images over AIM, it can definitely be done.
