Question on Sata connection

Hey on the Intel 975 badaxe mobo there are 2 different sets of sata ports 1 set for sata 3g via ich7r and the other set is for sata 1.5g via discrete raid controller my raptor and segeate drives are sata 150 is it ok to use these drives with the sata 3g ports?
