Question on Rebate (expired?)

Any thoughts on this dilemma:

I've sent in a few rebates using my GF's name/addr. No problems in the past few years...

However, she was cleaning apt and found 2 old rebate checks, past the 90-days allowed to deposit/cash them. Worth $80 ($20+$60). (dead line just missed in early June and end of May). This was around the time I had some major exams, so I'd probably didn't give her enough reminder... :(

If it was for smthing around $20, I'd probably let it go... but 80... wondering if I should call in to see if they can re-issue...

... I'm doing the finger pointing here... and the guilty party felt guilty about it...

Heck I never saw them, so can I call in for her and say they're lost in the mail?
That's commission of a felony, if I'm not mistaken. Sure, no one will find out, but is it worth the risk, no matter how minute?

Just call the rebate company and plead with them for new checks. Maybe you'll get lucky.

No harm trying to call. Can you check the status online? Like a tracking number and if sent/processed? Tell them that you never received them but status shows sent online. Hopefully they can issue a new check/s. Good luck.

Same thing happened to me, expired $10 check from Circuit City.
Now I make sure that I put all the rebates received in my checkbook.
