Just bought a stick of 256mb pc 133 ram (Kingston) few days ago...
after i put it into my system...it seems that my pc is not as steady as it is ...
i try running some diagnostic on the rams (with norton diagnostic) and the test failed...while it run ok before the upgrade...i tried running with only 128 mb pc 100
(took out the 256mb)...everything seems fine then...even pass the diagnostic test...
so does that means the problem lies with the ram ? oh and i tried running with only 256mb of ram and it hang quite a few times while booting up or while half way booting into windows...here's what i have
P3 550E (slot 1)
Abit BE6-2
SB live value
128 pc 100 (samsung) + 256 pc 133 ( kingston ) <---- do u think it's ok to mix both ?
CL TNT2 Ultra
Quantum Fireball 15gb
Win 98 SE
could it be that i'm using a motherboard that does not fully support pc 133 ? because it's running on BX chipset ? or could it be i just got myself a defective ram ?
oh yeah...and for those who own a rock steady machine...mind to share your secret ? hehe
