Question on price of hardware...

I'm upgrading my computer and was going to sell some of my old hardware. Before I put it up for sale I was wondering what is a good price to sale them for. The items which are being sold are as follows: Any ideas? Thanks!

Mother Board: MSI KT4 ULTRA-SR RTL (I paid $128 from new egg, when I got it)

Video Card: ATI Radeon 9700 PRO TV/DVI 8X (I paid $322)

Processor: AMD 2200+/266 Athlon XP (I paid $155)

Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 955df 19'' (I paid $225)

hit ebay and check out what price the same products you have are ending at. then use that as a basis for a range you should be into. you have to keep in mind, even though your stuff may be in excellent condition, its still not factory brand spanking new. its like a car in a way, you may spend over 20 grand to pimp it all out, when it comes to selling it 6 months after its down, dont expect to get any offers above 10 to 15 grand.

As much as we would like to recoup our original investment in PC components, the reality of it is that you have to base your selling price, not on what you paid, but what the current going price is (and of course, demand).

Usually, when I sell older used components, I take the price of my original investment and attempt to sell it for 30-40% of that. More if the part is only 2 or 3 notches below what's available as the best of its class So in your case, taking a medium of 35% recovery on the original cost, you're parts could be worth:

Mobo: 45
Video Card: 115
CPUProcessor: 55
Monitor: 80

If you don't agree with my selling theory (which I'm sure everyone has a different one) then take islandtechengineers advice, and do a little research on Ebay to see what going prices are, and go from there.
