I know that sometimes stores get games, books, movies, etc. before the official release date. They just aren't allowed to sell them before that date. So I was wondering if maybe they were allowed to ship games before the release date.

They can't ship it until they get it, which would be the release date. You'd have to wait a few days after due to shipping.
Yeah true. When I preordered UT2003 from ebgames.com I had to wait a couple days after the release date to play it. Now I've got UT2004 preordered, I can only hope they send it of earlier this time around.Originally posted by: pyonir

I worked for a Media Play and we received shipments sometimes 2-3 weeks in advance of a release date. I'm under the impression that most online stores ship so that you receive the item ON the release date.

There is a Software, Etc. and an EB Games store in my town, so maybe I'll just preorder from them.

if you have to have it on the day it is released, that's what i would do.
