OK I'm assembling my new system:
Gigabyte P35-DS3P
Intel e6750
Gigabyte 8800 GT
Corsair HX520 PSU

The motherboard has an extra 4-pin connector it says I need if running 2 video cards. I'm not, but would there be any benefits/problems if I go ahead and connect a 4-pin power connector?

Second question is similar. PSU has 2x2 AND 2x4 ATX12v connectors. The motherboard has a 2x4 ATX12v connector, but a protective cover over half of the holes. Manual says if using an extreme edition CPU, remove the cover and use all 8 pins. I'm not, but would I get some benefit from using the 2x4 connection anyway?

Thanks!

#1- I just saw a reference to it on another board.

The consensus was to go ahead and plug it in.

I had one of those on an Asus SLI board, and the consensus was to connect them, even without SLI.
I'd also use that 8 pin plug.
Can't hurt!
