Hi - I'm just looking for advice on etiquette. I just started posting, and I'm not having much luck. My second-last post was moved (It was about what I'm using for file sharing, and it was moved from "Hot Deals" to "Off-Topic"), which I fully understand. Then, in the off-topic forum, I asked some questions about DivX (what it was, etc.) and my thread got locked by somebody. Can you explain? I was merely asking for info. What about it was wrong? I'm not being difficult - I just want to make sure I participate properly.

Frst of all, read the forum FAQ.

Then familarize yourself with the "search" engine. Many of your questions have been already answered. Some may not be appropriate ("backing up" copyrighted games, for example).

Then carefully read the heading to each forum to see that you are posting in the appropriate location.

I'm really proud of my stupid opinios too - but I got locked again. Maybe you should open another forum called "Really off topic".
