Question on Pop up messenger service

I've put up with it for awhile now. I've turned off every messenger service I can find. I keep getting this pop up every so often...

Messenger Service

Message from WEBPOPUP on whateverdate
UNIVERSITY DIPLOMAS!! GET EM NOW! RAH RAH RAH RAH! SEND US YOUR SOUL! Etc.

How can I turn this off, and find out how the hell I keep getting it? I wanna track it down, find out where it is comming from, and send them a virus that makes their hard drive spin backwards and throw all the information off the edge from centrifugal force.

I know I can figure it out, but I'm too lazy, and I have 9 million other things to do. 🙂

its the windows messaging service. you dont really need it unless you use 'net send' on your lan. its just a new way of spamming those with the service running.

to turn it off, Use the admin account to...

GO to START > CONTROL PANEL > ADMIN. TOOLS > SERVICES then choose "Messenger" and right clicking and choose properties... it gives the option to disable or manual starting to choose from instead of the default auto start.
