hey, my dad is about to retire an old p2 266 (slot 1) from his office that im gonna erm, dispose of...

I quite fancy cannibalising it and grabbing a cheap dual proc mobo from ebay and another p2 266 chip. My question is, will a dual p3 slot 1 mobo be compatible with dual p2 chips? I would assume they would be backwards compatible but then again i could be wrong.

You may be thinking whats the point as the system wont be a touch on modern hardware but Ive always fancied messing around with a dual proc system, plus i need a server/router for the cable connection :)

cheers
c.

PII-266 uses the original 2.8V "Klamath" Pentium-II core. I seriously doubt that too many of the
recent boards still support that. Check the board's specifications on that BEFORE trying.
