Question on new ING Direct accounts

Like the title says, I just opened an Orange savings account and want to log into my account to see if it works, but I can't find the customer #.

I got one confirmation email from them and they said Dear Customer XXXXXXX. I'm not blocking out the numbers by putting X's, they did that. I can't even see what my customer # is.

Did this happen to anyone else or am I just really blind and missing the obvious?

I haven't verified yet since I just opened the account like 10 min ago.

Thanks.

I believe ING tells you to send a check into them with a code written that was given to you. After you make your first initial depo, they'll set you up properly with everything else.

I think you're given the customer number in one of the first steps when you set up the account. I didn't think to write it down, assuming it would be in the email (it wasn't, just like you said), so I had to call them to get it. 😛

damn, are you serious?

that's kinda retarded then. I'm sure a lot of people will be wondering where their customer # is.

they are going to deposite two small amounts into my bank account (like paypal) and then I enter in the amounts to verify the account.

However, in order to do that, I need to log into my account w/ my customer #. The same customer # that was never given to me.

Yeah, I thought it was kind of dumb too, but it's simple enough to call them and get the number. 😛

here's what the beginning looks like

"Congratulations! Your Orange Savings account is open and your bonus will be credited.
SAVE this page for your records. You will not receive additional confirmation of your account
opening.

Below is all the information you'll need to access your new Orange Savings Account. Most important
are instructions on how to confirm your linked checking account. For your security, this is required
before you can make withdrawals from your ING DIRECT account.
Your ING DIRECT customer number is *insert account number here*. This is a unique number that will identify you when
you sign in or call for account information."

and yes that is what the page says, with the sentence in bold letters... and "save" capitalized...

It was on the last page of the sign up process.

don't think it was...i clicked back to that page and looked all over the page. Had all my personal info and stuff but no customer number.

when I opened my account, I put in a wrong ss# and it took me 2 weeks to fix it. then I had to call to get my customer #. it was so hassle. but after it, I have no problem at all.

I also missed the page that gave out the number but when I didn't confirm my account after a few weeks they sent another email with the number.

i see...well all's good, I was able to get my cust # by calling them. But I'm just a little irritated that it wasn't anywhere during sign up. I even went back to the last page where it had all my info and I searched all over it and didn't see anything.

It had allm y personal info, bank account info, ect, but no cust. #.

Another Question,

I know there's a $25 bonus signup, but did you have to enter in a code or will it automatically show up once your account is verified?

I never entered any codes or anything and could have sworn I saw an advertisement on their site about $25 bonus signup. But it doesn't show anything in my account right now. Again, my account isn't verified just yet.

ah i see someone is making $10 off you...

but anyway, it'll show up in the account in a couple of days after you verify your account, and money will be usuable in like a couple of weeks.
