question on multipliers

i saw a review of the Soyo SY-K7VTA VIA KT133 Socket A here on anandtech and the main reason i bought this mobo is for its price and multiplier functions. as i opened the reatail box, i found that the mobo is exactly what was reviewed here but did NOT have the multiplier dip-switches. is it possible that SOYO made revisions to this board? and if so, what can i do?

Soyo uses a soft menu now much like the Abit boards.
Everything is controlled in the bios. Just boot up and hit the delete key, enter the bios and make your changes there. It should be explained in your manual.

are you sure? i did read the manual thoroughly and i didnt find anything about the dip switches at all, whether it be in the bios or as dipswitches in the mainboard.. i saw where the dipswitches were in anandtech's review and once i looked on my mobo, it was not there...

You can check the site here. They mention the use of their "Innovative Sofset for CPU configuration".
I have the 6BA+ board and it uses the same setup.
When you boot up the board it will be set at system defaults, and youjust enter into the bios and make the changes necessary for your cpu, exit and save changes. Really couldn't be much easier.

nope i'm positive it's not in the BIOS. i checked everything and there were no multiplier settings.

I think you will find that there are no multiplier configurations on this board and Anand's review of this board in September stated this. Check here for hisSeptember, 22 review of the SY-K7VTA.
It seems that it differs greatly from the November, 06 review of the SY-K7VTA. In the September article he says,

"Overclocking is very important to AnandTech readers, but the SY-K7VTA does not provide enough FSB settings between the 100MHz and 110MHz FSB range,which is what we expected. Beside the FSB settings, it would also be nice if Soyo had included the ability to change the multiplier for CPU, something that ABIT and ASUS has done and something that is much more useful when overclocking your CPU.

It seem that there are two different versions of this board, and unfortunately you got the one that doesn't offer the features you desired.
