question on memory

i hope i dont get sh!t on for asking a question like this... but what's good memory?? there is so many different kinds of memory being sold.. whats great? good? bad? ....sdram?ddr?DIMM?SODIMM?? what are those whats the difference? i'd appreciate any feedback

It really depend on what kind of motherboard you are goind to use, and what processor. Some guidelines are:

AMD processor +new motherboard go with DDRAM PC2100
AMD processor with old motherboard go with SDRAM PC133
Intel P4 processor +new motherboard go with RAMBUS a k a PC800
Intel P3 processor +new/old motherboard go with SDRAM PC133
SODIMM: Nothing you need.
