I just set up my rig and wanted to know what memory settings are good for this combo? I am running a stick of Crucial 2100.
Also, there is a setting "sdram idle timer" with the following choices: infinite,0t,8t,16t, and 64t. Which of these settings are best.
I am using the 1005 bios.
Thanks

I am running at 132 fsb with the ram set to 4:3 divider=176bus. The ram scores very high at this setting(2600-2500) in Sandra.I am not sure what the"sdram idle timer" does.I havent changed that setting from default. I am also running a 256mb stick of crucial 2100.Runs perfectly stable for me at this speed.I cant seem to overclock the cpu over 140fsb stable. So this seems to be the best speed for me.

Running at 150fsb(2.4), mem ratio 1:1(no other option above 133). Ram setting are 2-2-2-5, and that Idle Timer is set at Infinite(anyone know what this realy does?).

BTW, this is with one stick of Crucial PC2100 256Mb. It ran fine at 155fsb also. I'll try 160 one of these days. This ram will go farther at 1:1 than anything the cpu could handle, so no worries in that respect:D (like catastrophy with his doing 352Mhz(176), I don't think anyone has even gotten close to 176fsb(2.8Ghz with a 1.6)

I also would like to know the function of the Sdram Idle Timer.

I run my fsb at 150 and my memory timings with Crucial DDR2100 is 2 2 2 5.

I just emailed Asus tech support with a list of questions about the BIOS settings on the P4B266. If and when they respond, I will post a new thread on the subject....assuming they give a REAL response and not just tell me to use the vague, POS manual.

The big thing I'm waiting for is the core temp reading BIOS fix....this is unreal how they can release a board with such a HUGE problem.

It's pointless to email Asus. They don't respond.

IIRC, someone over at overclockers.co.uk or hardforum.com was able to hit 172FSB (2750MHz) on the P4B266 with the 1.6A.
