Question on memory - A7N8X Deluxe

Hi all,
My system specs are: A7N8X Deluxe, AMD 2500+ CPU, 1 GB OCZ Dual Channel
PC3200 RAM, ATI
9600 XT Video, WD 160 GB SATA HD. I recently had a hard disk failure and
replaced it. In doing so, I happened to be in the bios and noticed that the
voice thingy on bootup was turned off so I turned it on. Now that it's on,
it is occasionally reporting "Memory failed during bootup" but the pc boots
fine and everything works ok. The memory always shows up as the right amount
as well. As I was in the process of setting up this new hd, I believe that
it tends to happen after I've just installed new software but I'm not
positive of this.
I suppose the logical conclusion is that there is something wrong with the
memory but it passes Memtest ok and the pc is otherwise running fine. I
don't think I would have even noticed it without the announcement by the
bios. Could it be an issue with the timing perhaps?
Right now the settings in the bios are:
Memory Frequency - By Speed
Resulting Frequency - 200 Mhz
Memory Timings - Optimal

Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks
Gary

Resulting Frequency - 200 Mhz

Your CPU is most likely running at 11 (multi) X 166mhz (frequency).

Your ram at 200mhz is therefore not in synch with the cpu. These platforms run best when the ram and CPU are at the same frequency. I.e., set your ram to 166/333mhz.

That is pretty common with the A7N8X boards, most of us just turn off the post reporter or ignore it. As long as it does ok with memtest and prime95.

I think they have a newer bios that fixes the problem, I had a board that used to do that and the new bios fixed it

I agree with 11427 .... Turn off that misleading smarmy bitch. I don't think ASUS uses that dumb voice post reporter on their more recent releases.
