question on live cd os'

hi,
if one has to make an internet purchase for something, which involves sending credit card info over the internet to the internet retailer, i believe one faces a lot of risks such as any tracking or spy devices or worms or whatever that may jeopardize vital information. So would it be a good idea to use something like a live CD OS like Knoppix and use Knoppix's Mozilla or whatever browser it has to order soemthin online? Would that be a better idea? Because you have a completely clean os that has nothing on it for sure?

Well, you'd still have to worry about the live cd being up to date (they can get behind easily and quickly), and you would still have to worry about basic security. From the standpoint of not having the data written to disk somewhere in swap or whatever, it might be a good idea.
