Question on LCD TVs and using coax cable

Hi,

My wife would like an LCD for the TV in the kitch. My question is that it seems most of the small units do not accept a cable connection. Am I missing something? My satalite box is to far from the TV to run RCA, S-video or anything other than standard coax cable.

This page is confusing. It says under features "RCA, S-video and component video connections, PC VGA (640x480) and audio connections" and under specs it says "TV/cable, composite (RCA), component YPbPr, S-video". So I'm not sure if it will allow a cable connector or not.

Also I'm interested in the Planar 15" but wasn't sure if it accepted cable.

From what I can tell I need to be looking for ones with a tuner build-in or am I way off?

I wish they would also show the connectors then there would be question.

Thanks for any help since I'm new to this LCD TV stuff.

You need a built-in tuner to use cable, as well as a coax input attached to said tuner. I would imagine most "LCD TV" units have one, but most computer LCD monitors would not.

That Viewsonic *seems* to have a tuner built in. link to comparative specs chart

The Planar lists an "Antenna" input, which is almost certainly a coax input connected to the tuner.

Thanks

From some reason I missed a link on the Planar site and looked in the manual. Guess what. It has a tuner built in  I seen the Viewsonic product guide but didn't look because the product guide stuff is usually junk :(

Well, thanks much for the help
