question i have is both sodimms are 200 pin, is/will ddr2 memory work in a laptop that uses ddr (pc2700) memory? i havent found anything that says it will, but then again i havent found anything that says they wont. i havent had the luck to compare both sodimms side by side to see if they are physically the same either.

thanks

no, dont think so. PC2700 DDR is freakin cheap anyways, so why would you want DDR2?

I'm pretty sure it won't work.

Well if his laptop requires ddr2 memory then he needs to get it. (e.g. a laptop with the sonoma chipset)

No, it won't work. Just as what fbrdphreak said 😉 .

As far as why you'd choose DDR2 over DDR? DDR2 uses less power, and at 533MHz, it's about as fast as what you'll get for DDR400 in SO-DIMM form 😉 . That, and lately, DDR2 has been cheaper 😀 😉 .

Wow, that's a new one... TRIPLE POST!!! 😛 :|

Sorry about that... Firefox wigged out on me 🙁 . LOL.
