Question on kit memory

I installed a Crucial Kit Memory. 2GB (2 X 1GB) DDR2 PC2 4200. When I look at it in CPU-Z I notice that they show up with two different frequencies and timings in the timing table. How close should these readings be in two properly working sticks in a kit?

You can not run different modules at different speeds at the same time.

You're probably reading the SPD tab. That's the data programmed into the modules. It's used by your BIOS to set the correct memory timings.

Read the Memory tab.

I was reading the SPD tab. Are you saying that the information in the SPD tab is not pertinent? Under the memory tab is shows 266.7 MHz. Sorry I don;t know much about this and the only way that I can learn is ask questions.

Well it just tells you what timings you will get by default at the various speeds listed.

Your memory is running at 266.7mhz

Since the subject of memory is so complicated, Google, stickies, and FAQs may get you faster answers, and expose you to answers for which you don't even know there were questions to ask!
