Question On Intel Pentium D

I was simply wondering if the Pentium D was a true 64 bit or simply meaning that two 32 bits processors make up the 64 bit. Im partially lost in this aspect so i was wondering if someone could clear up this issue with me and possible tell me if it would be ready for the 64 bit version of windows vista?

Oh and a side note possibly when windows vista might be released. Thanks.

The pentium D has 64 bit instructions, just like an Athlon64. It will be able to run x64 Windows XP or x64 Vista

Pentium D processors are 64-bit, and will run 64-bit software, Windows XP Professional x64 and also the upcoming Windows Vista.

Vista may not be released before 2007. The exact time is not known.

Pentium D processors are inferior to Athlon 64 X2 processors at the same price point. They should not be purchased unless you can find a spectacular deal, and even then you should think hard on it.

I have even herad rumor that some of the new models of the P4 are actually capable of the new 64 bit software, anyone else heard anyhting about this.

If you want to learn what 64bit programs and extensions are then google them, or use wikipedia. If you don't have the knowledge to understand the answer then you're asking the wrong question.

You asked the wrong question.
