I cant seem to figure out how to connect up the power switch, reset switch, and other front panel leds to the mobo. I'm guessing I have to use the pinouts on the FP1 connector? The manual isnt very clear.

These mb's don't come cheap for no reason ........ manual information and tech support are a few of the trade-off's.

It may be easier for you to just follow the settings that are silk-screened on the mb itself, right next to the FP1 connector pins.
Just to the outside edge of the mb, kind of a block diagram:

pin's #1 & 3 - hdd led - you may need to modify your case connector (or change the wire positions) to hook this up.
pin's #5 & 7 - reset sw

pin's #2 & 4 - power led (ACPI led)
pin's #6 & 8 - Power switch

Pin #9 - vacant

Only pins #1, #9 and #2 are labeled, the other pins are numbered consecutively (either odd or even in the same row).
#10 is numbered, but missing the pin.

Ok, thanks. I read in a review that I can select a bus of 138 mhz. How do I go about doing that? I tried going in the CPU PnP setup in the bios, but it wont let me change the bus there.

Are you all up and running with the os loaded ......... ?

If so go here: OCWorkBench forums
You can download and flash a modified ("Cheepoman") bios that will allow you to oc and change (select) the fsb/cpuMHz settings from the new bios.

I don't know where or when you read a "review" that said you could "select a bus of 138 mhz", because in the "normal ECS BIOS for that MB, you cannot; period.
However, as was mentioned, you can flash the BIOS with an "altered" BIOS that has the unavailable options made available, if you follow my drift. It's "hacked"; (in case you don't). Bottom line is that the "cheepoBIOS" can give you a few more options for increasing the FSB. The problem is, unlike so many of the current MB offerings, the increases are not in 1 mhz increments; they are in preset numbers. So, if your board cannot handle the increases offered, for whatever reason, (cooling, PS, or just plain CPU limitations), you are SOL

Buz2b is correct .......... but remember, it is still great to have ANY FSB/CPU options (available in the bios) with this mb!
"Hacked" or not, the Cheepoman bios' is a great FREE option to have available in a $60. mb.
You should be able to find a setting that will work OK for you, and you can always play with cooling, memory and timing.
My K7-830XLM (K7S5A clone) w/ 1.2G Athlon is running happily at 150/150Mhz. for about 6mos. now ...... with nothing other than Samsung (oem) PC 2700 DDR and a good hsf...........
I didn't purchase this mb to oc, (but it's still fun to play with).
If your not going to go all the way and purchase an oc'ing mb with pci dividers ....... then your just spinning your wheels, even if you have the desirable 1MHz FSB step increments available........ IMO.

Yes, I'm up and running. Just gotta connect it up to the internet using internet connection sharing.
