Question on dynamic ip dns services??

I'm looking at starting a web/ftp/email server on my cablemodem which has a dynamic ip address. Anyone with suggestions on which dns service provides the best service / ease of use. Price always helps as well.

Just sign up and then follow the links on some free software to update for you. THat's how I have my Cable modem FTP/Web and other stuff setup.

I have a couple of friends who use TZO.
They are both very pleased with it. Hope this helps.

One of my friends at work uses http://www.ugate.net. I don't know if you need to buy one of their routers to make it work... but it works great for him on his DSL using PPPoE.

Oneeye....I'm doing that same thing on DSL... I registered a name on Register.com and it's costing me $35 a year for everything. The only catch is when my ip changes, I have to go to the website and change my ip in the dns entry. But mine hasn't changed since I got my router...The only downside to your setup is you can't use a router very easily unless your cable modem is external. If you need any advice on any of that stuff, the people in here know what they're doing(and I've had my setup since June). Good luck...I hope find something that suits your needs!
