question on .dvd format

OK, so I got a few files with a .dvd file format, labeled as being dvd rips, I can get sound out of them in pretty much any media player, but can not seem to get video to work. I've tried installing pretty much every codec in nimo, and they don't seem to work. What do I need to do to get these to work? Any help or even ideas would be great. Thanky ou

.dvd format? I've never heard of it. Oh yeah, welcome to AT and this post would be better off in the software forum. You should also try doom9, the people in their forums know computer A/V formats quite well.

Sounds like maybe something people rename for use only by the informed.
