Question on dvd-exchange policy at best buy

My daughter received a dvd from best buy and when we opened it, it was defective. There was no gift receipt and the person that gave it no longer has their receipt. Would I be able to bring it back as an exchange for the same item?
 
I doubt it.... Best Buy has always been asses to me when it comes to returning stuff (With both sealed and non-sealed items).... You would be more likely able to take it to Walmart to exchange..... 😛

Get the person who gave the dvd to you, to go with you down to best buy. They can get a copy of the reciept from customer service.
