question on dlink900ap, cat5 or usb

can i use that straight connected to a laptop using cat5 or usb? i'm trying to use this without hub,switch or router and get a signal thru another room with a pc->switch->(another)ap. pls. help
 
You can connet it directly o the Laptop using Crossover CAT5. To the best of my recollection there is no USB on 900AP.
 
there's a ethernet connection and console ( which looks like a usb) connection. what software should i use to configure it?
 
The simplest option is to plug it via CAT5 to a computer, and use the Internal IP to configure.

The manual should have the Info.

You type the AP's IP to the Address Bar in the Inerent Browser.
 
the sad thing is i don't have the software or the manual when i bought this used. thanks for the advice but can i use this without a switch or router and direct connect it the laptop?
