Question on DDR, any info appreciated. TY

Hi, just a quick question. I want to buy the optimal memory for the new motheroboard I want to get which is based on KT333.
However, when I search at pricewatch the memory types are ddr 2100,2400,3000, and some others. I don't think I quite understand which one of these memory types is supposed to be for the 333mhz bus?

Go for DDR333 (aka PC2700). The others are only useful when overclocking and they are immensly expensive. Just for future ref. here's the differences:

DDR266 (aka PC2100): runs at 133MHz DDR (effective transfer rate 266MHz, 2.1GB/ps of bandy) Supported by all DDR chipsets
DDR300 (aka PC2400): runs at 150MHz DDR (effective transfer rate 300MHz, 2.4GB/ps of bandy)*no offical chipset support, for ocing*
DDR333 (aka PC2700): runs at 166MHz DDR (effective transfer rate 333MHz, 2.7GB/ps of bandy) Supported by current generation chipsets (ie 845G, 645DX, P4X333, KT333, 745)
DDR380 (aka PC3000): runs at 190MHz DDR I believe (effective transfer rate 380MHz, 3.0GB/ps of bandy) *no offical chipset support, for ocing*
DDR400 (aka PC3200): runs at 200MHz DDR (effective transfer rate 400MHz, 3.2GB/ps of bandy)Offical chipset support coming later this year, until then *no offical chipset support, for ocing*

EDIT😱h and btw, I'd take a look at Anand's KT333 mobo roundup. Good stuff, 10 mobo's looked at

Hey thanks alot for the information. I finally get it, the numbers actually stand for the bandwidth and not the memory speed. That seems counter-intuitive.
